Born in New York City, I started playing guitar in1960 during the Folk Music Revival. Two journeys to India later, and after making a left hand turn at Madras, I found myself in Perth, Western Australia in 1970. About 6 years ago I picked up the Uke finding it kinder to my old hands and to once again experience the joy of making music with friends.
While in Perth I play with the Subiaco Ukulele Free for All (SUFFA) in their amplified rhythm section. Now living in Melbourne, I’ve had the pleasure to play with MUK and the Yarra Yukers.
As you can tell from the piece that I submitted I have been influenced by a range of music from the Child Ballads and Appalachian Hill music to the sounds of the North African oud and Indian sitar.
