The Thin White Ukes have won thousands of hearts with their passionate, handcrafted harmony renditions of the songs of David Bowie. From Space Oddity to Blackstar, the Melbourne trio’s jaw-dropping arrangements for tenor, soprano and baritone ukulele have had crowds of all ages swooning.

Betty France, Michael Dwyer and Robert Stephens became the Thin White Ukes in 2014 to explore a passion for crafty arrangements, harmony vocals and the genius of the Bowie songbook. They made their debut at the 2015 Melbourne Ukulele Festival, returned as a headlining act in 2016, and played the Dandenong Ranges Uke Fest and Deniliquin Uke Muster in between.

A hit of the David Bowie Is… exhibition at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, they have opened for Models, Robert Forster, Mental As Anything, the Blackeyed Susans and Mexrrissey, and collaborated on stage with Steve Kilbey, Jen Cloher, Angie Hart, Georgia Fields and many more. Their debut CD was produced by Australian rock legend Andrew Duffield (Models).
